Travel Grants

The Society for Tropical Ecology provides travel grants of up to €200 to participants of our annual meetings. These grants are aimed to support participants in need of securing their travel cost. Eligible are students who are members of the Society for Tropical Ecology (B.Sc., M.Sc. or PhD), be the first author of a conference contribution (poster or talk) and will be personally present at the venue.

Deadlines:

The deadline for submissions will be announced 2 months prior to upcoming conferences. For the 2024 conference: please submit your application no later than 03 January 2024. Your can confirm the acceptance of your abstract at a later stage, as soon as you were notified about the acceptance.

Application Process:

Please register first for the conference and submit an abstract at the conference webpage. If your abstract has been accepted, please send it together with a short motivation letter (1 page maximum), a budget calculation, your CV (2 pages maximum) and one brief recommendation letter (1 page maximum) to the Travel Grant Selection Committee (email: travelgrant[at]soctropecol.eu). Up to 25 students will be selected for receiving a travel grant.
