We are happy to announce the annual photo competition of the Society for Tropical Ecology (gtoe)

3 categories:

1. Beauty of biodiversity

2. People and nature

3. Research applications and biodiversity solutions

Please send in your best photos to: photo@soctropecol.eu

The photos of the 3 finalists in each category will be printed and exhibited at the

forthcoming annual conference of the European Society for Tropical Ecology.

Rules:

  • Participants of the competition must be members of gtoe.
  • Call opens annually on September 1
  • Deadline for submission of photos annually on December 23
  • Maximum three photos for participant per category, makes nine photos maximum submitted per person.
  • re-name the jpg (max size below 10 MB) with category, your name, numbering (e.g. Biodiv-NAME-1) – for jury: name will be deleted.
  • Photo without signatures or water-marks, to avoid bias.
  • The photos must be strictly coherent to the themes.
  • We will be only accepting photos showing minimum ethical handling standards for the respective animal taxon.
  • Ensure that consent is obtained from relevant persons in the photo.
  • Award for the best photo of each category: 100 €. One person cannot win in more than one category.
  • The 9 finalists will be announced online in January, the 3 winners will be announced “live” at the end of the annual gtoe meeting in the Award Ceremony.
